CELESTIIAL was created to mirror mysticism in nature. Its heart lies not in its medium but in its dreams. It is a reflection of astral lit shown upon the earth--sinking into its soil--waiting and dreaming. It wishes to be the pulse of woodlands and water. Nothing more? Understand that funeral doom isn't always slow for the sake of being slow. It is slower than the beat of the human heart. Its pulse is dead. The pulse of CELESTIIAL aims at being completely parallel to continual motion in everything of this earth. From the seasonal changes to representations of myth. The 'elite' believe they are already established in their beliefs and their mindset is one which prevents growth.  Humble yourself to what is not known and you will find wisdom.  You who understand blood and spirit to their fullest potential already know why something like CELESTIIAL exists.

With cosmic and nature based eruptions rising from the soul, Celestiial taps into a reflective and isolative state of funeral doom that hasn't been felt with this much creative impact since the mind altering days of Disembowelment. Suffocating vocals and the deeply guttural burn of guitar dirges co-exist with atmospheric environmental recordings to give the listener a return to the primordial frame of mind through majestic atmospheres and the underlying feeling of dread for humankind. Along with the crushing pulse of de-tuned decay and dark ambient undertones, Celestiial has further pushed the envelope of the funeral doom genre with the open minded incorporation of traditional folk instruments such as the Celtic Harp. Fans of Skepticism, Thergothon and Disembowelment... prepare to meet your doom through this inspired, forest born epic of surreal and emotive metal. Celestiial is where the body ends and ones spiritual exodus for the woods begins...

2010: "Where Life Springs Eternal", the 2nd full-length release from Minnesota's Celestiial, is yet another monumental and groundbreaking funeral doom experience. Combining Harp and other experimental elements in with Tanner Anderson's visionary grasp of forest inspired doom, Celestiial embraces the inspiration flowing from his surroundings and injects them into an inspired and uniquely challenging/spiritual expression. Along with Anderson, this album features the talents of Tim Glen (Percussion) and Jason Walton (Bass) from Agalloch. Recorded by Andrew Broder (from the band Fog) and mastered by Jason Walton, "Where Life Springs Eternal" is a vibrant exploration of  beauty from within and its reflection upon the waters streaming from the woodlands.
